We have flair on this subreddit! Dating a cadet I help teach? This is taken from a post from tifu here. Basically, I have developed feelings for a girl who i help teach. I’m not officially in charge of them, but i go in during my study hall and teach them drill and such. I am wondering what your guys’s opinions were on this. I asked her to the ball and she said no because her mom doesn’t want her going with a junior.
Dating among cadets was common, officers would date freshman sometimes. My advice to you is, if you like her, go for it. Don’t favorite her over other cadets, treat her just like any other cadet you know? Just because she’s your girlfriend, doesn’t change the fact that she is still a cadet and has to follow the rules and regulations of the program. That goes for you too, as a leader, it is your job to maintain self-discipline and treat everyone fairly. If you can’t do that, you don’t deserve your position.
Maintain self-discipline in the classroom, activities, and whilst in uniform.
If you’ve never attended a military ball, you’re probably worrying over what to wear, how to act, what traditions to follow and what to expect. But even if you’ve lost count of how many balls you’ve attended, a quick military ball etiquette refresher is always a good thing. So what is expected of military spouses or dates at the ball? And have you been doing it wrong all along? First of all, it’s important to note: There are no actual rules for military spouses and dates at military balls.

When researching higher education, you certainly see a lot of acronyms thrown around. So, what does this particular grouping of capital letters actually mean? Indeed, ROTC is a college-based program which trains commissioned officers. Unlike undergraduates who attend a military academy, students who pursue ROTC are still able to enjoy the regular trappings of college life. Indeed, they are expected to participate in various training exercises and regular drills throughout the academic year.
These exercises take place in both the classroom and in the field. Classroom courses are considered to be electives in your academic schedule. ROTC students also must partake in longer exercises during the summer months. Further, upon graduation, undergraduates are expected to join the military as commissioned officers. The length of commitment varies depending on whether or not a soldier serves on active duty or in the reserves.
Many students who consider ROTC are drawn to the program by the numerous benefits it offers. To begin with, those who participate are offered financial assistance with their college educations. Additionally, through their myriad of classes and commitments, ROTC students receive invaluable leadership training. They learn how to manage and motivate people and how to take control in stressful situations.

Army ROTC courses are open to all students, and enrollment alone does not carry a military obligation. Students selected for the advanced course normally pre-junior, junior, and senior years will complete their academic and military studies concurrently, and upon graduation will be commissioned as lieutenants in the United States Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. Participation in the advanced course may qualify participants to receive financial aid through a series of scholarships and co-operative education programs.
ROTC training is also intended to foster ideals of patriotism; promote an understanding of the role of the citizen-soldier; stimulate interest in a military career; and develop character, self-discipline, and leadership ability. Army ROTC is a college elective, and enrollment does not require military service. Students can apply for on-campus 4-year, 3-year and 2-year scholarships at Drexel.
